A new home-grown gourmet grocery concept launches today (Tuesday, December 2015) in Al Wasl Square in Dubai. The Farmer’s Garden offers speciality and organic food from around the world to health-conscious foodies — and plans are in place to open multiple locations across the UAE.

The store will feature more than 50 brands from across the world, including Kleos, a provider of extra-virgin olive oil from centennial trees in Greece; Baronia artisan Italian pastas and sauces; cheese from Indulac, a Portuguese cheesemaker; organic Swedish knackebrod (crispbread) from Vilmas and speciality items from French brands Tipiak and Sur le Sentier des Bergers. The Farmer’s Garden also works closely with local providers to shelve fresh, local, organic fruits, vegetables and other products.

The store is the brainchild of leading Emirati businessman Rashid Al Habtoor, whose goal is to provide a premium, yet affordable, brand of groceries to people committed to a health-conscious lifestyle. The Farmer’s Garden aims to be the leading high-end gourmet, organic and bio produce provider in the Middle East. The store is also committed to the environment. Instead of plastic bags, they will offer only 100 per cent recycled products to transport groceries.

The flagship store — which will be 2,600 square feet — is scheduled to open on Sheikh Zayed Road in March. Additional stores are already set for Wasl Vita, Meraas and Palm Jumeirah. For more information, visit www.thefarmers-garden.com, www.facebook.com/thefarmersgardendubai or call 04 338 7750.
