Menswear label Berluti is offering customers a rare opportunity to commission custom-made shoes and suits in the Emirates.

Between March 9 and 11, the company is bringing master tailor Karim Rebahi and bespoke bootmaker Patrice Rock to the region, to advise and assist clients. The exact location will be confirmed closer to the dates.

For those able to afford the luxury of bespoke pieces, the advantages are manyfold. While a shop-bought suit may be good, it is cut to a general pattern. Custom-made, as the name implies, is cut to fit and allows every detail to be selected, from the width of the lapel to the colour of the lining.

For bespoke shoes, once the wooden last has been made, the client has control over the type of leather, the exact shade and even the finishing patina.

Founded in 1895 as a high-end shoemaker, Berluti expanded to leather accessories in 2005, and to menswear in 2011.
