Don’t throw away your fabric scraps – there are plenty of fun things you can do with them.
Cut fabric into flower shapes of varying sizes and then stitch them together through a button to decorate hair accessories, kids’ clothes or scrapbook projects. Use complementary fabric squares and create your own patchwork quilt, or stitch two pretty rectangles together to create a bookmark. You can découpage small squares onto an old picture frame to give it new life or onto wooden letters and use them to spell out a meaningful word or name. Place where they will brighten up your day.
Cover light switch plates with fabric in a print or colour that matches the decor of your room. Or give a boring old mouse pad new life by sticking a cool printed fabric on it – just trim off the edges by flipping the mouse pad over and slicing off the excess with a craft knife. And if you're feeling ambitious, weave strips together to create a basket effect. Depending on the size of your end product, you can use this to cover scatter cushions, a lamp shade or even a canvas to create an interesting art piece.
