The San Isidro district in Lima is now home to Peru’s first-ever Muslim-friendly hotel. Sonesta Hotel El Olivar was awarded accreditation by CrescentRating, receiving five out of seven stars based on facilities provided to Muslim guests, who are offered dedicated prayer areas as well as prayer mats, timetables and a list of mosques close to the hotel. For those who prefer to pray in private, rooms are marked with prayer directions. Several halal dining options, including room-service menus, are on offer, while iftar and suhoor facilities are available during Ramadan. The swimming pool has separate times for men and women.
