Punjabi film producer Talwinder Singh Rathor has filed a lawsuit against Priyanka Chopra and her production company Purple Pebble Pictures for its intention to use Ik Onkar as the title for its upcoming Punjabi film.
He claims that the name was registered by him with the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association in 2013-2014 and that he has copyright over it. He also says that he has invested a significant amount and almost completed production on a film called Ik Onkar.
While IMPPA’s dispute committee will settle the matter of copyright infringement, Rathor has filed suit seeking damages and to restrain the 33-year-old actress and her company from using the disputed title.
