Imagenation film competing for top prize in Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival just announced its competition lineup for the Palme d'Or, and the sole American film out of the bunch is "Fair Game," a dramatization of the Valerie Plame affair starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts and produced by Participant Media and Imagenation Abu Dhabi.
Imagenation's first act out of the gate, after it was founded in September 2008, was to form a $250 million revolving film fund with Participant Media, the Hollywood-based studio founded by eBay founder Jeff Skoll dedicated to socially responsible entertainment. The Imagenation-Participant team released a stylish remake of the George Romero toxic horror film The Crazies earlier this year. The National is owned by Abu Dhabi Media Company, Imagenation's parent company.
