Home improvements: Latest bathroom trends
Free-standing tubs are the bathtub of choice among this year’s trendsetters. They offer a lot of flexibility in terms of placement, but interestingly, some people are choosing to put theirs inside their shower areas.
It’s a classic, but white is one of the top bathroom colours for the year, for fixtures, tiles and accessories. It’s an easy colour to use no matter what your style – modern, contemporary or traditional.
Grey has become a trendy colour in the past few years. If plain grey or a combination of grey and white don’t excite you much, remember that you can combine grey with just about any other colour.
Bathrooms are now a huge focal point in any interior. The main ensuite is being treated as an extension of the master bedroom. Bathrooms are larger and far more open.
Expect more polished metal finishes and less matte. Brass has been a hit – but from gold, silver and platinum to stainless and brushed steel, other metals will be back in full strength this year. These finishes are perfect for cabinet knobs and even faucets.
