Home improvements: A family-friendly refresh with these home projects
It’s a good time to give your home a bit of a revamp. And why not do projects that children can help out with?
Try repainting the walls of the smaller rooms in your home if things are looking a bit drab. This is an easy, family-friendly task. Get the children to help choose a colour – make sure that you’re using non-toxic paint, hand them brushes and let them loose on a wall.
While you tackle your long-neglected garden, have the children rustle up a bird feeder. You will need an empty toilet-roll tube, peanut butter, birdseed and coloured ribbon. Cover the tube in peanut butter, then roll it in birdseed so that it covers the outer area entirely. Finish the feeder by threading the ribbon through the tube, then tie it at the end.
Finally, if you find your mug collection needs an overhaul, invest in a few cheap, blank ones to decorate at home. You will need some oil-based Sharpie paint pens. If you would like to adorn your mug with letters, words or intricate designs, buy some large scrapbook stickers that you can use as stencils.
