Drake ‘would marry Rihanna tomorrow’

Rapper Drake reportedly wants to marry singer Rihanna after the two recently rekindled their romance. The on-off couple recently started dating again and, after 29-year-old Drake’s heartfelt admission at the MTV VMAs last week that he has been “in love” with Rihanna since he was 22, things have gotten serious. A source told Eonline.com: “Drake is very committed to Rihanna. They are both mature and ready to commit now. Drake loves Rihanna so much, and if it was up to him, he would marry her tomorrow. Things are different this time between them for the better. They want to make this work this time with each other.” – IANS


Hrithik Roshan movie Kaabil is not on hold

Actress Yami Gautam says the shooting of her upcoming film Kaabil, starring Hrithik Roshan, has not been put on hold. A recent report speculated the film had been delayed due to Roshan’s ill health. Gautam cleared the air by saying: “Not at all. It’s absolutely not true. In fact, the film’s shoot is going really well. We have just wrapped up a song shoot. Moreover, as I have always said it’s amazing to work with Hrithik, especially when we are shooting a dance sequence with him. I can’t wait for all of you to watch it.” Directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by Roshan’s father, Rakesh, the thriller is scheduled for a worldwide release on January 26 next year. – IANS


Mukti Bhawan gets standing ovation

Director Shubhashish Bhutiani’s film Mukti Bhawan (Hotel Salvation) premiered over the weekend at the Venice International Film Festival and received a 10-minute standing ovation from the audience. After the film’s screening Bhutiani said: “It’s been great. I didn’t think people would show up, but we had three sold-out shows. So, that’s quite amazing for us. It was so unexpected because I thought it would be empty, but so many people came for it, and the audience was so electric. They were laughing at the jokes, they were smiling and crying. For me, it was an emotional experience to show the film to the audience because they were the first audience to see it. It was a crazy surprise for me.” Mukti Bhawan is a father-son story, rooted in India. The film, set in Varanasi, stars Adil Hussain, Lalit Behl, Geetanjali Kulkarni and Palomi Ghosh. – IANS


Nick Lachey and wife expecting third child

Singer Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa are expecting baby number three. The couple already have a 3-year-old son, Camden, and an 18-month-old daughter, Brooklyn Elisabeth. Sharing a photograph on Instagram, the couple and their two children pose atop packed boxes on the stoop of their new house. The announcement said: “We got a new crib! Now we need a new crib!” There is also a red heart drawn around Vanessa’s stomach as she cradles her growing baby bump. The couple started dating in 2006 after Vanessa appeared in the former 98 Degrees singer’s music video for song What’s Left of Me. Actress Shu Qi and actor Stephen Fung get married

The Assassin star Shu Qi has surprised fans by announcing she has married Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Fung. Rumours swirled for years that the two were dating, but neither confirmed their relationship. Shu Qi posted wedding photos of herself and Fung online, along with a statement that said: “Um, yes, our wedding is that simple. Um, yes, our attire was very casual. Um, yes, our decision was very sudden. ... Oh, yes, we are married.” Originally from Taiwan, Shu Qi began her career in modelling but moved to Hong Kong in the 1990s to pursue acting. Fung directed the hit kung fu film Tai Chi 0 in 2012 and its sequel, Tai Chi Hero. He is the executive producer of Into the Badlands, a television series showing on US TV channel AMC. – AP


Pop star Madonna criticises Trump’s sons

Madonna has blasted Donald Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Jr, for posing for photos with a dead leopard. The 58-year-old singer posted a photo on Instagram of the brothers with the animal, which it is thought they killed during a hunting expedition to Zimbabwe in 2012. According to Femalefirst.co.uk, Madonna said the photo is “one more reason” she will be voting for Trump’s US presidential rival, Hillary Clinton. Madonna recently visited Africa as part of her own philanthropic efforts. During her trip, the chart-topping singer met with the First Lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta, with whom she discussed eliminating mortality among mothers and babies. – IANS
