Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan was in Dubai this week to launch her signature line under the international design and architecture firm The First Ferry.

Khan, who first developed an interest in interior design when she was decorating her Mumbai home Mannat, has since partnered with Hrithik Roshan’s estranged wife Sussanne Khan in exclusive property projects as well as her furniture store The Charcoal Company in 2012.

Khan is quite the businesswoman – besides producing some of her husband’s films and co-founding the production company Red Chillies Entertainment alongside SRK, she also established her own interior design store, named The Design Cell, in Mumbai recently.

With First Ferry – which has a presence in London, Singapore and New York – the entrepreneur will be involved in addressing the needs of high-end clients and will extend her skills to home, restaurant, offices, retail space and spa decors. She will also be consulting on landscape design, yacht interiors and will extend the Gauri Khan line of furniture and chandeliers.

“I might design jewellery, bags and shoes under my signature line a year from now,” Khan said at the press conference held in Dubai on Wednesday. “I have a dream for this signature line and design is my passion. There will be no limit to the possibilities of the extension of my brand with The First Ferry because the future plans are all drawn out with a clear vision.”

A portion earned from the Gauri Khan brand will go towards funding the Gauri Khan Foundation.

Gauri and Suzanne Khan were last seen in Dubai in March, when they launched their Goa real-estate project Naira. The celebrities will be involved in setting up 12 luxury villas with limited-edition collection furniture and accessories from The Charcoal Project.
