The Dark Horse (2015) Director: Louise Osmond Country: United Kingdom

An inspirational, rags-to-riches true ­story of a barmaid who breeds a champion racehorse. Director Osmond’s last feature documentary, Richard III: The King Under the Car Par, was nominated for a Bafta and won an RTS award. Osmond also has an Emmy and numerous festival awards under her belt for previous films.

Bogowie 2014 Director: Lukasz Palkowski Country: Poland

Palkowski’s Bogowie tells the fascinating story of Professor Zbigniew Religa who changed the rules of medicine, as well as breaking social, cultural and religious taboos, by removing a human heart from its body at a time when heart transplants were regarded as a crime against nature.
