Hollywood starlet Olga Kurylenko might be known for big screen blockbusters such as Oblivion and 007 adventure A Quantum of Solace, but the French-Ukrainian star says she is itching to move into more indie fare.

Asked who she’d like to work with most, she picked Woody Allen, David Cronenberg and Martin Scorsese.

Other names she dropped at our interview (on Friday December 12) included Darren Aronofsky, Lars von Trier and Michael Haneke.

Kurylenko is currently in town at DIFF to promote her latest starring role, alongside Russell Crowe in his directorial debut The Water Diviner.

It’s the star’s first visit to the UAE.

“They’re treating me very well,” she added. “It’s my first time in the festival and Dubai.

“I’ve never been before – when I arrived I thought ‘why did I wait so long?’

“They’ve been inviting me every year but I was always on set filming somewhere – but this time, I’m free. I’m glad I finally made it – I love it.”

Kurylenko arrived on Wednesday December 10 and is planning to leave town on Sunday December 14.
