Black Sabbath fans are not the only ones excited by the band’s show next Thursday. The metal giants’ bassist Geezer Butler is looking forward to unwinding in the capital before the performance at the du Arena, and is set to arrive in the UAE early next week.

"I should be there about six days before the gig," he told The National. "I never been to the UAE before and I have some friends in Abu Dhabi and Dubai so I am looking forward to spending time with them."

The 64-year-old, who is a vegan, said he plans to explore the capital culinary scene. “I do plan to check out some of the restaurants,” he said. “I will be generally relaxing and taking it easy for the few days.”

Geezer has no fear of being spotted – he is happy to sign autographs if fans find him strolling around. “By all means come and say hello,” he said.
