All the Rajinikanth fans, don’t miss this chance of following the Thalaiva on Twitter
Last year’s chart-topping song Lungi Dance from Bollywood film Chennai Express gave us some sound advice: “All the Rajini fans, don’t miss the chance.”
So what if South ‘Thalaiva’ (Tamil for Boss) Rajinikanth’s verified appearance in Twitterverse yesterday was a marketing gimmick for his upcoming 3D Tamil period film Kochadaiiyaan? You can still join the legion of fans (231,000 and counting) who welcomed him on the social networking site.
The first and only message by @superstarrajini ,so far, has been: “Salutation to the Lord. Vaṇakkam aṉaivarukkum !! A big thank you to all my fans. Excited on this digital journey”
There is nothing Rajinikanth can’t do. In fact, there are several Facebook pages dedicated to his antics in movies -gravity defying action, his ability to travel faster than light and capability of stopping bullets with a mere stare.
The second highest-paid actor in Asia, who has more than 150,000 fan clubs across India and a massive fan following in Japan as well, did not have a social media presence until now.
As soon as the superstar’s account came alive, his presence on Twitter became one of the most shared news online.
The first tweet from his account has been retweeted more than 10,000 times already. Fans who tweeted back were elated to find their hero thank them. “Thank you for being a part of the fan family. Here is an exclusive Kochadaiiyaan poster for you.”
There wasn’t anything exclusive about his interaction, but that didn’t deter followers from shouting from the rooftops.
