Alice + Olivia brings mixed prints back into the game

In typical Alice + Olivia style, vibrant prints and bold colours are plentiful in the fashion label's spring/summer 2017 collection. Aptly titled Mystic Gardens, the collection features bright florals in bloom, coupled with butterflies, stripes, pleats and a heavy dose of embroidery.

A cartoon illustration of a stylish brunette, outfitted with oversized round sunglasses, a striped top and floral headband, is displayed on T-shirt and on an emerald-green floor-length skirt, and bears striking resemblance to the brand’s creative director and chief executive, Stacey Bendet.

All of the season’s trendy silhouettes are on display in the Mystic Gardens range, from cold-shoulder tops and sporty bomber jackets to ultra-flared denims. Patterns and embroidered fabrics are diverse, and paired together, showing the designer’s penchant for mixing prints and layering, even for the spring/summer season.

In a fashion climate where minimalism is seeming to dictate current trends, Bendet’s latest designs are a breath of fresh air.
